Hi,
So my welding hobby got a bit out of hand. What started with a Mig C3000i sort of expanded a lot. I like Esab machines, but often professional welding equipment is bit expensive, so I started buying machines in very poor condition, and try to fix them myself. I thought it would be fun to share my slightly weird projects
Starting with my Warrior 500i, I bought this machine at an auction, it think it has spent its life in UAE. Probably seen som heavy use, lots of dust. And at some point I think it has been partly saturated (You can see the waterline on the powerboard). When I got it home I took the covers off and powered it up, it took a few seconds then a capacitor violently exploded. I had all the capacitors replaced, and also i noticed the rubber plug which covers the hole for cables to the cooler was missing and a rat had chewed on a cable, so replaced that bit of cable, and the machine worked fine after that. I also spent a lot of time cleaning it, and replacing various covers and also the big "sticker" on the face of the machine. It welds very smooth.
