50% above rated pressure. How much pressure should I test a tank at I'm looking at getting one of those hand water pumps one I'm looking at goes to 25psi I think
swl ?25 psi is about the bottom of car tyre pressure range, so that would be no good!. 150% of SWL is normal.
as above ?50% above rated pressure.
will cheak on thisThe real cheap ones go to 25Bar mate not psi - plenty of pressure
SWL - Safe Working Load.
Used for cranes and gantries.
Don't forget to remove all the fittings and bung up the holes with with BSP black iron bungs (from your local plumbers merchant etc)
Fill the tank from the tap, using that pump to fill it might take days and your arms will still fall off before it's full.
You don't have to get every last cc of air out, but the more you do the less pumping.
I've got the plugs that I was going to test the old tank that failed so hope most of them I will have fitting forDon’t stand in front of any plugs when testing. If one fails, it will be ejected like a bullet. Covered with something that would absorb the energy of any flying plug would be good
That 240psi test pressure would appear to be 50% above the safety valve (pressure relief) blow-off pressure.
