Woke up on a picnic bench in a mates garden once. He didn't have a picnic bench at the start of the night .......

I remember studying in Christchurch after the quake, the infrastructure was shot to bits and floods happened often. A group of four students had stolen a picnic bench and a bus stop sign when the road suddenly rose 1ft with raw sewage. I nearly died laughing as we a) ran to higher ground and b) abandoned the four on their new raft!

After my sisters 21st birthday party I woke up in a porch. No trousers. Shirt on inside out and no glasses. Knocked on the door. Then though maybe not a good idea. Looking out the window didn't ring any bells. Minutes past. Decided to venture outside. Found my trousers on the drive. Fags lighter phone and wallet still in the pockets. Glasses appeared next. Look around again now I have vision. Not a clue. Walk down the road a bit. Find some shoes. Not mine but logic dictates I must have been wearing them. They look familiar. Chap walks past walking his dog so I say." Excuse me mate. Where the **** am I. " Explained my situation and he offers me a brew while I make some calls and get a pickup arranged.
Turns out I went back to a house party after my sisters do. Went out for supplies and never came back. Mates house was also the owner of aforementioned shoes. :/

Haven't drunk more than a few glasses of brandy since.

I went home(I was still living at home then) from a party at about 2am and decided to sleep under my dad's car.
Woke up about 7am under the car.
My mum swears to this day that I came in the house to use the toilet at about 3am.

Some much needed wire brushes for the dremel. Ran out after Monday nights lathe cleaning and rebuilding .

Squeezy bottles for oil. And a shed load of drill bits in some sort of order.

Try & buy them locally & bring the can with you. The shape of the lid varies between manufacturers so the seals differ too. I gave up trying to source seals for my cans & made my own from a piece of synthetic rubber,

For something that is so 'standard' in appearance I have three pouring spouts to fit my different cans, some fit more than one type but all will only fit one type without leaking when I pour. Nuisance when you end up with the wrong spout and can together.

Yes I noticed that when I went to the Army Surplus depot. Some still had fuel in - I opted for a dry one as the bloke said it was mystery fuel. For a standardised product, there were a few larger and smaller caps, which I found interesting, thought they were universal. Got me nervous now, hope the spout I bought cheap fits my can

That doesn't matter one bit.. it just means you have a reason to keep buying more cans till you find one that fits your spout :-)

The ones that only seem to fit their own make of spout seem to be the machine mart ones, but thats based on a sample size of two! all my others were surplus.

Many years ago my brother narrowly avoided being arrested for trying to steal one. In the coppers opinion he was trying to get it off the pole. In my brothers opinion, when seen by the police, he was just trying to fix it because it was wobbly! Somehow he got away with it, probably because he was to smashed to actually get it off the pole.

I've bought a box that says P&L Products, Instrument Case Manufacturers, Blagdon, Bristol. It's a really nicely made box, brass hinges and hook, Google has proved fruitless so I wondered if anyone knew what sort of instrument it might have housed.

Could be misinterpreted- hang out the washing around here and the locals ask if your wife is ill. I was doing it once when a truck went by- the driver's expression clearly had me pegged as a holidaying gay hairdresser....
