Something I can't seem to find on t'internet.
For example. I need to tighten a nut to 300 lbs/ft. Which obviously means 300 lbs applied to a one foot long lever.
But what if I lengthen the lever to two feet (double it)? Does this mean I now apply 150 lbs (halve it) to achieve the same torque at the fixing ? To me logic says it does.
But if I double the length of the lever again to four feet, does this mean I now only have to apply 75lbs ? Again, to me, logic says this would be correct, or would the 75lbs need to be applied at three feet ?
Am I missing something ?
