there was always a carbon rod thingy for gassless brazing too ,,,
never tried one of those either
yea a pair of carbon rods you atatched to an electric welder. when they came together they produced one hell of a flame and good for brazing and heating but you couldn't localize the heatthere was always a carbon rod thingy for gassless brazing too ,,,

i bought a pair of used Firemans boots as my first m/c boots from Pride and Shark . I ordered size 9 but was sent about at least size 12 and as heavy as hell .Took 3 steps to get them moving . Also used to sell ex WD DR bikes .god used to buy that every week without fail and moon over all the stuff you couldnt afford .anyone remember pride and clarke motorcycles advertising in it
got to give it a go now you have the destructions@bigegg these are great, they aren't a gimmick and those suggesting you can do as well with a direct connection to the battery are failing to understand how they work!
You can use them along with a few decent car batteries to MMA weld thin sheet steel. There are situations when it would be a very useful item to have if off grid, tiny budget and no gas etc.
I scanned my manual for them a while back for someone else on here, here's a copy for you:

It needs to be powered by a buzz box. A current of around 50 amps is required. The tool is designed to weld thin steel sheets. A solenoid in the body of the tool causes a small diameter coated welding rod to vibrate against the weldment. The tool is connected to the buzz box using the normal electrode holder connection with the usual return connection attached to the workpiece. Thanks everyone.
So...
Can it be connected to a buzz box, rather than a battery?
