Just started to look for PPE to go with my first welder and wondered which EN407 glove ratings are right for MIG. The projects I'm looking to do range from thin body panels to thicker (maybe 4-6mm) plate/box, likely a 180A - 200A sized MIG/TIG welder. (Will look to play with TIG a little further down the road)
I saw Tegera gloves get some love on the forum so looked at their range:
126A and the thicker 130A are goatskin hand area with cowhide cuff, unlined: both rated: EN407 412X4X
19 looks like how I imagine all welding gauntlets look, all cowhide and lined: EN407 41314X
Would the 130A be ok for my MIG usage even though it has a lower EN407 spec than the tegera 19?
Bottom line is I'm wondering if I can get away with 1 glove for both MIG and TIG and if 41314X is the minimum viable MIG glove.
