Can i ask some advice, i have an R-tech mig 180 that i purchased about 6 months ago. So i've not had a chance to use it much due to storage issues, and i needed it this week but had some issues,
The machine is all set up as i would usually set up on machines ive had in the past, ive even consulted the manual to make sure,
When going to weld the wire seems like it strikes the material then stops and gets stuck to the tip!
I can weld i nice 2mm bit of steel but the wire comes out slowly make like a dripping noise in the weld puddle rather than the nice bacon sizzling sound. then it stops and the wire bunches up on the roller.
I got so frustrated with it as i have never had this problem before with the machine i upgraded from, an old sealey mig.
So far ive tried backing the nut right off holding the drum of wire on, and ive adjusted off the pressure on the roller so i can pinch the wire coming out of the gun slightly and the roller slips.
But when going to weld again it stops straight away and the wires getting stuck in the tip, then the wire bunches up inside the machine again!
the wire is 0.6 mig wire the machine came with witch is nearly new and nice and clean, the roller is the right way round on 0.6 and the tip is 0.6. even tried a 0.8 tip.
Using same gas from old machine, 5% c02 argon mix
Starting to think my upgrade wasn't an upgrade from what i had or im being thick
