Must have missed the part where Jaguar are designing, developing and manufacturing their cars in india
It's Tata, they can pull out of the UK on a whim.

right...and they've had the opportunity to do that for for 16 years but haven't. Not saying they won't but regardless you'll still be supporting British industryIt's Tata, they can pull out of the UK on a whim.
Me thinks it was "leaked"...got to keep the attention going I reckon. The new jaaaag has been leaked
Didn't a certain Indian Co.buy a steel works somewhere and eventually started shutting it down . I sense a modus operandi here.right...and they've had the opportunity to do that for for 16 years but haven't. Not saying they won't but regardless you'll still be supporting British industry
Seeing these images does bring to mind the photos of WW1 tank design. Those even say it's the 00 design concept from nearly 10 years ago!
A complete change of subject but on Metalmonkey's comment there is also a video about the sycamore felling court case. Well worth a look to give us hope that realistic journalism is not completely dead.
Harry's Garage did a reasonable run down of it.
Didn't they say that Jag is now aiming at the Aston Martin sector so nothing under £100K and low volume. Which is why most of the showrooms will be closing. No idea what will happen to all the cheap jag tat on the road today that still needs main dealer support.
Last week I had to pay an independent specialist dealer to fix my car. It nearly broke my heart to admit I was not able or willing to fix it. First time in 60 years . Seemed like the first step down an expensive path.Given that the Range Rover Special Vehicles division moan that with every box ticked the base >£200k RR can only get to £400k, I think the new Jaguar will aim for >£250k supercar territory.
The 'cheap tat' on the road these days doesn't see an under the arches bodger let alone a main dealer!

On a quiet nightshift we would play with the "build my car" website to see who could spec the highest price car
I think there was a place in Coventry that did the one off paint jobs for JLR then the body would come back and put into the build line.Ah, but did you try the Bespoke boys.
For c. £20k they will paint it any colour to match any swatch you present.
For another £20k or so they will guarantee no-one else can ever specify that colour.
Then comparable amounts for the leather colour...............................
I agree what's happened to British steel is a travesty. It's embarrassing a country like Britain can barely make its own steel. This countries push on eco friendly steel making probably didn't help mind. But I don't think something as important as steel manufacturing should have fallen into foreign ownership to begin with.Didn't a certain Indian Co.buy a steel works somewhere and eventually started shutting it down . I sense a modus operandi here.
Nobody should be fooled into thinking that any investment in any of our industries by a foreign country is for our benefit long term any more than the world wide British Empire was for Jonny Foreigner. I believe the phrase "charity begins at home" is relevant.
Is that the reason there's so many cars styled like Ali G's tracksuit in London?Ah, but did you try the Bespoke boys.
