So a 1/2" nipple in receiver to 1/2" ball valve (optional but recommended),then either copper or large bore hose to the regulator

Ok i've taken a few annotated pictures to show what i mean.

It's not a prefect setup, it should have a few ball valves here and there and a few quick couplers but it don't really bother me for now. Also there should be an air filter somewhere at the far end of the hose, as far away from the compressor as possible.

So, I've got:

what do i to do to the factory outlet of the compressor ?
I assume the factory regulator becomes void ?

Yeah there's no use for it because the compressor has a 1/4" going in to the pressure switch which is such a flow restriction that makes the pressure switch end pretty much useless as an outlet.

i now have more questions about air hose and what mm. I am looking at a regulator with 2 x 1/4bsp outlets with 1 1/2bsp inlet my question is what mm aire hose ? does the fact that the outlets are 1/4bsp mean they will restrict the air flow if using 3/8 or 1/2 pip with expanders etc hope that makes sense

The regulator at the pressure switch comes stock fitted with two quick release couplers. Just don't connect anything to them.

My regulator has a 1/2" female inlet and a 1/2" female outlet. I wanted minimal flow restrictions. I'm not sure about using any 1/4" threads before the air tool itself but I'm sure others would be able to help you on that. If you are going to reduce thread size, I'd say don't go lower than 3/8" or it will bottleneck the system.

I would stick to 1/2" reg on inlet and outlet....

1/2"nipple to a 1/2" tee,on the outlet,reduce 1 "T"outlet to 1/4" for quick connects,and pipe the other outlet in 3/8 or 1/2" pipe with a quick connect on the end for max flow for impact wrench/da's/ratchets etc,but it really depends what you have available or wish to get in the future

from reg to tools ?10mm,you can always add a flexible whip to the tool later on......

If its out of the two, its the 10mm you want. Make sure all your hose diameters are inner diameter bore and not outer diameters.

A retailer is likely to mislead you of hose diameters giving outer diameters rather than inner diameters.

cheers fella where did you get your hose from as looking for a flexibale hose from compresser to my copper pipework so the vibration wont move the copper if you know what i mean ?

Hi, I got my hose from a local hardware store and i got the hose tails off of eBay. Im sure any braided hose will be fine, as the hose has a working pressure rating above 10bar. Do not confuse this with burst pressure, which is well above working pressure.

Another thing I think i'll let you know about is that when i bought this compressor, it was advertised as max working pressure of 150psi, but when i received it, the pressure switch cut off at 115psi. I had to manually adjust the pressure switch to give me around 140-145psi, just before the safety valve blows.

Yes it was very hard. I sheared off the front inspection port, but i luckily managed to get the back one off, hence the piping behind my compressor.

The ports are often loctited in ,with mine I heated the plug up with a plumbers torch,tackle it while its still hot.....

hi all i am still stuggling to get my head round the piping i have sorted out up to the filter/regulater but now i am stuck. from the regulator 1/2 bsp i want two air lines in my work shop - 3/8 for paint gun and impact wrench etch and a 1/4 inch to run other tools tyre inflators etc.

I want both lines to have quick release capablity but i am not sure how to acheive this,

pleasse can someone explain how i can do this and what couplers etc i would need

u dont need 2 air lines just either half inch or 10mm pipe to the quick release coupling and a shorter 1/4 bore to the spray gun or smaller air tools to plug in
