Your inverter may go down to 10 amps but I very much doubt you’d even get a rod to strike properly (if at all) at that sort of setting, let alone maintain a stable arc.

I’ve still got some “tin plate’ rods which would likely go that low. I’ve no idea where they are, mind!

My son is looking at welding some stainless in his spare time.
Where would I go for info on what rods are for what etc.

Would 1.6mm rods be the right size for this application? Don’t think I would get on very well - but I’m not the best welder in the world!
