My motto is that.That's why I buy some tools I don't necessarily need. Other than the fact they're taking up some slight amount of space, I know once bought that they're now to hand when I do eventually need them. & if I never need the tool, still nice to know it's there if one does.

I think I need one of these, but have as much need for pulling as pushing - are these things available with a double acting ram and the requisite bits to go with it? The seller’s descriptions I’ve found are a little vague.

depending what your working on, weld on lugs and use a pull lift or chain block, I have done that in the past.That’s what I’m currently using, but it’s getting a hold, and then welding near ratchet straps is bit of a problem… I’ll have a look for some chain first - I might be able to get the strap out of the way a bit eat each end.
