More work on the tailstock. All bore holes cleaned and polished. Threads cleaned and recut...slight bore wear but as to be expected from a 1940s machine...
Today...cleaned the bottom of the tailstock and inspect for scraping...also need to drill out these two holes..they originally had pins in them to stop the tailstock locking handles from hitting the lathe bed. One hole is way out of shape and the other has a broken stud...it just so happens I have a big cast iron jig cube that will come in real handy for just this task...I will make a bracket that bolts to the cube and will support and hold the tailstock in the correct position for drilling...
