Just looking at the pic on the eBay add, it says it is 04 nose rad in the title but the pic says it is an 08, maybe worth confirming as 04 would suit your lathe better.

I bought the insert and messaged to confirm that i want the 04.

There are cheaper ones but no idea on the brand. One insert will be enough for now and see how i get on.

Personally I would stick to known names, some of the cheap stuff is reasonable but the majority is not.
From a quick search I saw a few at £35 for 10 inserts with free post which is ok'ish, they were Ceratizit and TaeguTec which are both decent makes. One thing to watch out for is the grade, often you will get grades for cast being sold on eBay and if you use them on steel or stainless they usually do not last any time at all.

One of the links is for a scriber, if you haven't bought the scriber then use a Tungsten, they are excellent for that

Looks like they will do steel or stainless, I have always had good results with Sumitomo inserts both turning and milling and if I used that size inserts I wouldn't have posted a link here

No it was not me, i don't really need 10 was going to ask if someone fancied splitting them. But the same tip would fit the right hand holders any others?

Yes, the insert would fit a left hand holder of the same type, SDJCL, it would also fit a neutral holder such as SDNCN and any boring bar that takes the same size insert such as SDUCR.

I use the D shaped inserts a lot as they are very versatile, turning, facing, profiling although I tend to use the negative inserts as my machines have plenty power. Having said that a positive insert is almost always a good choice for boring bars as it reduces the cutting forces.
