Cool, one of my mates in Towcester sold up last year and bought a canal boat. He’s really enjoying the way of life even though he’s moored up near Bugbrokke

My friends have lived on theirs for over 4 years now

We moved it from Milton Keynes to Ringstead

Not really that interested in a bricks & mortar lifestyle personally

It the future its one thing I would love to do buy at the moment we just don't have the facility to build one from scratch. You never know what the future holds though.

Boat update. It taken longer than expected due to work load but the boat is now water tight for winter.
The new front section of cabin is complete with its front doors.
The back of the cabin also has its new doors plus a proper hatch.
The bigger windows are fitted and the pigeon box on the roof.
I've created a gas locker in the bow of the boat.
In the new year I'll get the rear seat/battery boxes fabricated and fitted. I've got some extra portholes, vents and mushroom vents to fit. Then I shall be able to start the interior fit out.

too much is when I can’t drink any more.
I’m always the camp jack so move onto spirits.

I was sea sick once, only the once. Bloody 5ft waves in the canal, who’d have thought eh ?

We I managed to get the project boat into dry dock for a week to carry out some welding work on the Hull including about 400 deep pits around the Hull. I also stripped the Hull back to bare steel before painting with 2 coats of anti corrosion paint and one coat of blacking. Will get the second painted on tomorrow.

In the picture I was arc welding. Depending on the jobs as to weather I use the mig or arc.

Since moving the workshop to Braunston we have done a number of jobs for wharf House. They have moved down to the marina as well now.

Yes it's the Rohr 140amp arc set. I've got one at work and one at home. It's a brilliant little welder for the money I've done lots of welding work with them now using 2.5 and 3.2 rods which it's done with ease and very smooth.

Been a few years since I worked for them, new they had gone from bottom lock and thought they had packed up.
didn’t realise they were still going though.
