240v thermostat switch?

Good project for a home automation system.
Wireless temp sensor and a relay in the heater switch - could switch the heater on and off based on temp and a schedule.

Bit of a faff though it you’re not that way inclined.

Do well I reckon that would do it. There look to be two heating lives but I’d only need one.

I won’t have time to try it out today but I’ll dig out the sensors at least, I’ll give them a try tomorrow - I think they may be ntc which look like they are fairly standard on underfloor heating systems, but even if not you should be able to get a replacement fairly cheaply.

So I got chance to try it - it appears to work ok, but the sensors I have are 1k resistance - when I tried it with one of those it didn’t respond to any changes in the dial.

I chucked in a 10k resistor and tried it with that to simulate an ntc sensor, and the relay clicks in and out when you adjust the dial so it appears to be working (as far as I can tell). I tried to dig out a 10k pot so I could simulate the temp going up and down but I think I used my last one on my lathe control!!
