Quick search on "HB Body autoclear 496" shows it described as 2k all over. Also available as normal cans to mix.
Could it be out of date, hardener has a shelf life.
Or maybe - guess - being a can it has a higher thinners content than you'd mix for a gun. And so laying on wet coats has woke up the basecoats, making for the tackiness
