That's all I've done since lockdown, using up pallets - trying to get through them all!
My pallets became table-tops, but maybe I should try this, instead.
I don't have any wall-space, though!

Glued the other up this morning before I leave for work. Before doing so I had to plane down some of the shapes because it was a thicker bit of wood. I did this by screwing some screws into a bit of ply and pinching them in a line with the correct thickness diamond shapes set either end and in the middle. This helped guide me to the right thickness.
All glued up. Came out nice as well. I can’t wait to cut these to size next week and finish the frames

@Kim - take that as a serious suggestion. Eldest son's girlfriend sells 'hand made' acrylic splashback on Etsy for ludicrous sums. Especially into the inside the M25 crowd as well as the USA and Germany.
Nicely framed and finished I'm sure those would sell for high 3 figure sums into that market. All one-off commissions too so no problems with Distance Selling Regulations and returns!
Off to scour Etsy for your competitors.

I bet they do!
I used to work for them (GKN CHEP) for a while, and they seemed to actively "hunt down" their pallets, and wherever they were seen, they always wanted them back, regardless.
Almost as if they'd go as far as snatching them out from under whatever was stacked on them - they did seem so very hot on that!

Have a look at Penrose tiles. Two simple shapes, easily doable on a mitre saw.

So I did a bit more on this today. I’m not to motivated today so only a little bit done. Also I found I made a mistake with my measurements so now I need to do another bit of the wood for the frames.
Anyway, using my track saw I cud the art thing down to size first. (Well after I removed all the nails I put where I needed to cut
). I then cut the ply leaving a 10mm all the way round for the frame.
Offered up the framing bits and then planed them to 1” wide. It was just a bit to big here.
Router in the step for the fly to sit in. Doing this allowed my to nail into the ply and into the frame without it being seen.
I went over some scrap with some linseed oil I bought. Im a bit undecided. I have not got a clue what it is but it’s got a really nice bronze shine to it.
Left to dry now. I need to do a final sand and also rout in the thing to hold it onto the wall. Then this ones finished and I need to do the other.
