50 Litre Air compressor problem

Problem is the writing has come off!!!
So i cannot see the rating..

The mains plug has a 13amp fuse in it.

My other compressor has a 15A reset fuse in it and thats the same size apart from the compressor is a V twin.

Any ideas as to what rating it would be?

That looks encouraging, I envisaged a smaller device built into the motor.

Did you get the capacitor checked out, if thats a dud it would cause the overload to pop.

Not had the capacitor checked out yet.

I think i have managed to make out the rating of the overload fuse.

It says 125/250V AC 50/60Hz
Underneath it says 7.5 A

So i need to get a 7.5 A one.

I might just plug a 7.5 amp car fuse in its place and run the compressor and see if it blows. I have got a few of them lying around.

If it blows ill get the capacitors checked out.

A car fuse is only rated for 32V and is fast blow.

I'd look for a 7.5A thermal breaker.

Good point. I forgot about that factor.

Ill order up a 7.5 amp 240 volt one if i can find one.

Before you order or do anything else, check the flipin capacitor.

My dads friend has got a tester to check capacitors so ill take the compressor over to his and get it tested out.
