8018-C1 rod- what are they for?

I was thinking of doing some outside sculpture work so they may come in handy! Is my buzzbox OK for them or would I be better getting a dc inverter (I need an excuse to buy one! Lol!)

On a side note, do I just ask for corten sheet at the supplier or is there another name for it?

the -C1 means they contain nominally 2.5% Nickel

Thats 8018 not 8013

I generally used this chart to identify electrodes...

Thats a very misleading chart.........the 8013 is THEIR reference. WE are talking about AWS reference (a National Standard)

I would amend it to 8018-C1 as the suffix makes a big difference to the scope of application
there are -Bs, -As, -Ds, -Gs the 8018 is just a reference to the strength level 80000 psi tensile and the way it welds
