A couple of recent productions, the woman with the book is sold, the fish? A model of a 'Short Roundeye' I make one of these as soon as I sell the last one so he is up for sale. First I have to get him rusted. Pictures of that process to follow.

Fantastic! Chunko, just creating something like that, from an idea is amazing. Getting it all in proportion and being happy it looks right must be a natural talent.

No not really. You have got me thinking that wider strips could look good, an idea to file away for another day.
I have thought that these things would make good signs for chippies or commercial fisheries and fish farms etc, but so far no takers.

This morning I brushed him with ammonium chloride solution, 3 hours later he looks like this.


Glad you all like it, I have thought of painting them but it can look so tacky and goes grotty after a while outside, stainless is a possibility next, I have enough to make a smaler one, watch this space.
How big? 2.2m long and about 1.8m tall.

I think a stainless one would look excellent, a few different polishes could be used to add a minor, but effective detail....

One of the most famous, if not the, in this country is made from CorTen, the Angel of the North.

Funny you should say that..i was repairing someones quad that was stored in a brand new shipping container this afternoon. There was a plate on the outside that said something about corten but i didn't take much notice of it.

This type of thing terrifies me.

Angel of The North, a great public work, I read somewher that it has a reputation as a good place to concieve a baby, for Geordies to take a piece of art to heart like that is a great compliment. let alone that stupid white plastic horse, or the revolting bronze in is it St Pancras station in London. Yeuk!!! Grrr Grrr artist rant on the cards.

Corten? I have looked into it, pricy though I would love to use it if I get any big public commissions, but a steel stockholder has told me that it is only available in sheet form, does anybody know different?

Now now Chunko, don't carp on about it or fall off your perch, there's a time and a plaice for that sort of thing. All this talk of sueing will make people feel you've got a chip on your shoulder, or was that a red herring.
