Its bonkers. I tell thee. Sky came and fitted a dish to our house. Its 12 foot up. The ladders had to fixed to the wall, and then don a Harrness. It took him longer to get ready than to put the 3 screws in. If he had of fallen he would have either hit the floor or have been suspended 2" off the floor.

The snag is, if he didn't take these precautions and something happened, he would be in serious trouble so no way would he not set up with restraints and harness.

A lot of the time the focus is on fall prevention, but the rescue part of the thing is forgotten.

Yup, that was part of the training, showing how the old harness's cut off circulation and such.

New style looks like a parachute harness (I think, having no desire to jump from a fully functioning air-o-plane). 2 straps in the crotch, some around the sides & shoulders, and the lanyard connection at the back is such that you hang upright (sort of)

I also have to wear my harness, without the fall arresting lanyard, when in the tunnels.
They need it to help extract my bloated carcass in an emergency.

...and "Y'all" got some serious old houses over there...no telling what's rotten, loose, falling off.
I still can't believe you put toilet drains on the outside wall......

Been on sites where they wanted to see the harness but no interest in the restraint. Had a guy collapse on a tower years ago lucky 2 had been on the course and he had kit.
I agree regarding H&S but seen it more than once

Have only seen these made by one manuf, now out of business.

I finally after 20 years got one used.
