Nearly! All works but needs the other light switched on to make it work - common to the existing switch is switched live. Does the brown jumper need to go to L1 or L2 on the existing switch?
New switch on on the right (or top as you look at the photo)

Have you not got a permanent live in that switch?

looking at the bottom switch is either live one or live 2 a permanent live no matter which way the switches are positioned ?check with a meter or a screwdriver tester
