doesn't help children are insulated from the world these days. Even playgrounds are watered down counterparts in case kids get hurt. Was always playing with tools as a kid. These days its Xbox or PlayStation instead of creating and building. There was talk about bringing back grammar schools. A little before my time buy I can see the appeal. Not everybody wants to be an academic so let's give the a fighting chance not to end up serving customers in aldi or dossing on the dole. Good education and GCSE passes are not necessarily the same thing. It's not so hard now to get into really good quality from the start, world has gone mad for it. What's lacking is adaptability and hands on experience, no disrespect to the young Comming up but there is a massive step change in what say a 19 year old can do today and what they could in the 80s, back in the 60s it was perhaps even more profound.
