Thanks only just learning to alli weld with gas so its going to be a while, I am planning on going back to mph motor panels early next year so might get all the panels made and take them down and get some help putting it together.

superb stuff-hope you are not going to paint it when its finished- be a shame to hide that craftsmanship with paint (not that I'm saying sprayers are not craftsman gods in their field).

No not planning on painting it hoping to be able to get it nice enough to polish it

Bought myself a cheap english wheel only got this one as i need somthing with very small wheels for the cobra, the wheel are ok the frame is going to need to be modified

Last year I searched for a panel beater and unfortunately it's a dying trade, only managed to get hold of 3 and they were all down south. Some skills you got there mate. Did you just learn by doing?? Will you be welding it all together to make a one piece body before polishing it up??

Last year I searched for a panel beater and unfortunately it's a dying trade, only managed to get hold of 3 and they were all down south. Some skills you got there mate. Did you just learn by doing?? Will you be welding it all together to make a one piece body before polishing it up??

Thanks you.. i did a wheeling course with Geoff Moss of mph motor panels and they just practice and a lot of trial and error i resto cars for a living so it helps.
The pan is to weld and polish it and use a moblity scooter to power it.

I've got to the stage where I can walk fairly well, I can bend enough to almost touch my knees and maybe lift a pint (but not allowed to drink it). The shell has been mostly seam-sealed apart from the engine bay and a few bits underneath. I had hoped to get that done myself but it isn't looking too likely.
If you get a 'slack' period in your schedule and want a job to fill a gap then I'm ready, otherwise I can happily keep it here until I get better.



I wonder if you could get some replica Cobra-esque Halibrand wheel centres laser cut???

Glad to here you are getting better, we are pretty busy at the moment but will keep you in mind for the first slot that comes up.
