Advice about fixed workshop piping

I'm old fashioned.....
I'd only use galve pipes.....with a 1,1/2" ring and 1/2 drops...the big pipe acts as spare receiver.....
and put plenty of T's in so u can add extra drops later on.....
I'm lucky enough to have the proper pipe dies on an electric Rothenburger....

I'd love to do it in galve but its just not cost affective with the need of dies etc

Once you've run a ring main round the shop you'll find 4 outlets not enough!
For diy simplicity 25mm water pipe does the job and all fittings available but check employee regs first.

do you mean the MDPE blue pipe that comes in coils?

Indeed it was, flat out with a 5 inch sander for over am hour and no bogging down. Will be even better once I get the other conpressor wired up

Yes believe its rated at 12bar will last for years can eventually degrade in sunlight but I believe other above ground (pos. black) pipework available for the job. All much quicker and easier to install if your in a hurry

So as I'm running 2 compressors in to the same line, both around 8 bar, do I need to pit some form of non return valve between each compressor and the main line.

If both compressors reach 8 bar surely the main line before the regulator will have too much pressure?

No need for a nrv 2 X 8bar still equals 8 bar. Don't set both compressors at the same pressure. As they will be constantly cycling on and off, you want at least 0.5 bar differential possibly 1bar.

great I will run some of that down to the new shed save me carting the 50L compressor down there next time.

Blue MDPE water pipe is fine and cheap as chips. I have hundreds of meters of it round my buildings with my Hydrovane in a remote Portakabin. I use 25 mm MDPE. It's rated at 10 bar.

Make your drops go past your outlet point and down to a drain valve - (outlet on a branch Tee.)

the pipe will be partially under ground no way of getting a drop on that. That will not pose a problem will it?
maybe I will use a gas bottle as a receiver at the end with a drain on it

I have run mdpe blue poly all around the yard into containers/sheds and that’s been in for many years now, you can get backplate elbows with bsp threads for it and screw pcl fittings straight into them.I did have a problem with some infrequently used copper drops years ago, they were holding a bit of water and freezing/splitting the pipe in the winter, the blue poly can handle a freeze with no issues.

Great thants the plan then. I have some of those backplate elbows that I used to screw bit taps into for my out side water supply
