I was looking at that very page this afternoon, as I need to resurface a couple of shafts but the above link says they are only for running oil seals on and won't take a load. Still looking so will keep an eye on this thread.

SpeediSleeves as said are for repairing oil seals.
They won’t last long on a crankshaft at all

I have a friend who is a metal spraying expert, not local but does know his stuff, proper old school, he does it for a living, along with cylinder head welding, has around 50 vintage and veteran motorcycles.

I have heard of the metal thats sprayed on the surface breaking away and making a right mess. Maybe it wasn't done right.
