Theres no right way to make that shape, just use whaterver method suits the kit you have or can get.
If you don't have an english wheel, or planishing hammer set up you could hammer form that using a wooden stump or sand bag.
Link below to my first attempt at something similar.
The method is well described in David Gardiners DVD, but I'm not sure if he still selling them as the link on his web site doesn't work, but there is some of it shown in a taster video on YouTube. It's from 2min 30seconds in.

The two doors on the PS looked in pretty good shape, till I stripped all the trim off. Of course then there were a couple of scabby bits. Tackled the rear door, window section first. The patches in the bottom of the doors were straight forward and luckily the rot didn't go into the...

While I'm at this end of the car, I thought I may as well tackle the rest of the inner wheel arch....
^^ (shell is upside down) this triangular reinforcement piece was rotten at the bottom (top), so handy enough to remove & repair
....but I couldn't leave it at that, as the piece underneath it is the inner wheel arch:
But what do I find when I remove that?
....the bracing underneath that is rotten where the outermost spot welds once resided.
Et voila:
A veritable Pandora's box
.... bearing in mind the inner and outer wheel arch is non-existent

So, while I've been waiting for delivery of my new mig torch, I haven't been idle....as I'm at this end of the shell, I noticed more accident damage....
The blue indicates a long dent that was left and is barely noticeable until you compare the swage line here with that on the other side of the wheel arch. Also in blue is very crusty on the inside (doesn't look too bad from the outside)
....then I happened to come across this:
....the eagle eyed among you will notice that it's the wrong one, but since I've never come across the 2 door version, and since they're rare as hens teeth, I thought why not? Only 40 quid since the arch is gone and it's had a repair:
It looks like they were about to cut it off, but reconsidered, tacked it and filled it. Obviously, it cracked.
I clamped it loosely to the car to see how it might work:
If I was to use the bulk of it, I could either cut close to the crown right below the window as far as possible, then take a wavey line to below the taillight (the two models have completely different taillights, the 2dr being more squared off in that area). The panel has no back pocket, but they've left about 3/4 inch below the bumper line so a butt weld would be possible there ...any thoughts????

Also did some more fettling on the wheel arch repair sections that I made a few months ago:
Rotten arch cut away....
.... repair section offered up
Compared with the other (better) side
And got to work removing the rotten lip on the good side to reveal the extent of the corrosion on the inner lip.
I'm tempted to use the arches that I made, but I know the wheels would stick out ....

.... that'll do for now. 2k epoxy primer, a "skim" of filler afterwards and it shouldn't look three bad
As regards this:-
I'm still getting to grips with the new (genuine) torch on the Clarke 160te, so am loath to mangle it with heat/incompetence.
Note to self! Clean, repair and paint the inner quarter pieces before closing it up with this patch ...

Glad to be of helpA big thanks to @Dcal for sorting me out with the sockets/plugs for the spare wheel well.... They've worked out a treat
.... Still have a bit of welding to grind back...
Since I had already made the dies for my Alfa, making a few more bungs was easy.
