air compressor problem

Oh they replaced the whole compressor for you not just the motor, and now you have the exact same problem.

the small pipe with the red arrow should release the pressure in the delivery pipe (2nd red arrow) to allow easy starting check the valve is unloading the pressure

Snooper will check pipe tomorrow have left heater under compressor to see if this makes any difference

Would be a good idea to check the capacitors as well, and all electrical connections up to the socket on the wall.

it may do but if you have left it under the reciever the heat will pass the pump due to the width of the tank.
heating up a compressor tank is not a good idea. i picture it going bang

just had another thought check the drive belt isnt over tensioned

And another, other thought run it up to pressure wait for it to switch off and unload, then disconnect from the mains and turn the compressor by hand a few turns, just in case the centrifugal switch on the motor is sticking.

i still think its temp related especially with him getting a replacement.
i had a small comp from machine mart for our drivers to use on tyres and it was exactly the same and still is on a cold day unless we pre heat it it just buzzes then cuts out and once cool struggles to start again.
but in summer ther is no problem whatsoever

Could well be, but he has a heated garage and it starts first thing, its the re-starting thats the problem even against just 10lbs of pressure. We will soon know as he has quite a list of checks to go through now.

Gentlemen, Result left heater at side of pump started first time with 50 lb in it,think i weill change oil to sythtic to see if it make any difference. thanks for all your help

I had exactly the same problem with a similar machine bought in January. The engineer came out and identified it as the overload switch was inadequate at 15a, they sent me a 20a which I have fitted, seems to be sorted.
