Hi everyone
New to this forum and I have few question for beginning
I have ordered ANI R150 and Develbiss GTI spray guns (The Gunman recommendation) from SpraygunsDirect and now looking to buy air compressor, please help me to choose:
SGS 100ltr , Burisch BT-350V , Burisch BT-390T or Wolf Dakota 100? If you know something better up to £300 will nice to hear.

Depends on which aircap you have on your gti spraygun (pro and pro lite between 9.4 and 16.3 cfm).

I do apologise, not GTI, GPI with 1.4-1.6 mm. Biggest part to paint probably is bonnet but most will do small parts so I want buy once, a good one. Really hard to decide go with bigger 100lt direct drive tank or smaller 90lt but belt drive

No problem looks like the gpi only has one option for the air cap so only needs 9.4cfm to work efficiently. The air compressor needs to rated higher than 10 cfm fad so more like 14 cfm if that's within your budget. Also think belt drive is a lot quieter than direct drive

I can recommend the Burisch BT-390T.

I've had one for about 3 months running paint guns and air tools perfectly.

Bought Wolf Dakota 100 and problems start :
At home compressor working connected 13a plug but in the shed the main switch keeping turning off automatically every time when I start it. I'm not some electrical technician so dont know a lot about all these plugs,cables... Here is how it looks like in shed:

and outside how cable going from house to shed:

Im thinking to buy 2 way consumer garage unit 63A RCD with x2 MCB's (6A & 16A) from Screwfix so I can connect compressor in to the 16A plug (I want to keep swich for lamp and 13A socets) or you have better idea. Thank you

Not an electrician but which ones tripping the red 63a one or the grey b16a one. Would have thought a c16 would be more suitable for use with a compressor but possibly wait for one of the electricians to offer better advise

I just dont unerstand why compressor working at home but not in the shed ??? Socket in shed connected to 63A consumer unit and compressor wont start so even if I buy 2way garage cons.unit with same spec will be the same? right? anyone pls

might require a c type 20 amp putting in for the compressor providing the cable supplying it is minimum 2.5mm cable

Yeah, its defo 2.5mm supplying consumer unit. Does it make any difference if I will use 16A plug+socket instead 13A plug+socket for compressor?

a 16 amp plug and socket will be ok to use on the compressor. some on here will comment on using a 16 amp socket on a 20 amp breaker but its just nit picking and they suggest next size up 32 amp

Now Im confused:

Working at home I'll assume to be plugging in to a 13A socket on a standard ring main.
In the shed, to a 13A socket on a 16A breaker

Mines socket is connected to 16A breaker but compressor still not working so decide to make 16A socked to connect 20A breaker and you say

You shouldn't use a 16A socket on a 20A breaker

So any more ideas

as i said 20 amp c type breaker 16 amp plug or wire it direct through a 20 amp double pole switch and that will keep everyone happy

Im not 100% sure, from house to shed cable going through the kitchen so I think is 32A b type breaker

most large 1Ph compressors have a 15a trip built in to the control box somewhere so that you 16a b mcb is tripping before that because at startup it could be close to 25a or more ! inrush for millsec also along cable to the shed WILL create some volts drop which wont help at all.

Finally rain stops so I done today a test, new consumer unit, 2.5mm cabels, 16a socket + plug all connected but still not working what I done wrong?
