When connected to the air line, air escapes from the bottom (Drain off?)
Everything seems tight, but it looks like there is a hole right through the centre?
Yeah, looks like theres something missing out of this one.
Plasma, aye. Theres one on the compressor and the air line is not that long, so no issue, but ideally have it on the back of the machine.
Camera has focussed on the wrong thing, but deffo something should be in there. You can see the small spring clips that would hold a pipe(?) in place.
Surely air shouldnt come out of there?
Looks like a pneumatic push connector to me, possibly an automatic-stop one where the mechanism is leaking slighly? Does the whole thing screw off to reveal a BSP standard fitting?
We have similar to that at work and they exhaust when you push the fitting to one side then seal when you let go, the fitting is there to allow you to fit a drain tube.
Has it been ok and just started leaking or is it on a machine you've just bought?
It looks like the black bit on the end turns through 90 degrees. Theres a '0' and a '1' with an arrow between which i presume is open/dump out water and closed.
More fiddling required.
Never seen filters with a drain tube out of the bottom.
its a push fit to allow the use of a auto drain valve. we have a few at work like that with a solenoid valve that opens for a burst occasional to check there is no water in the tank. the bit with the white nob on looks like a normal operative required drain off
The one I have self drains when you drop the pressure off, As soon as you pressure it back up the air pressure pushes down and reseals the spring loaded auto valve,

I need to take it apart and clean it/try it back on. Dirt could well be the trouble.
Looking at the price of new consumables i need the air to be as dry as poss, so a second filter won't go amiss.
have a look at getting an air dryer. at work we have a couple of different sorts one is an inter cooler between pump and tank the other is between the comp and a dry air tank.
Just looked at the purge drier Drains, 0.1 of a micron takes some believing, thats a 250th of a thou!!! I have one drier inside the plasma and another fitted at the inlet.
