Air fed helmet recommendations

We fell foul of the HSE on an unrelated job and the existing management was deemed inadequate. So we revamped it all, and the HSE were much, much happier.

Yes as You work for bigger organisation, as you use works like, managment, team, etc. Its the smaller organisations that worry me, where they have more of a get the job done attitude.

When working in these tight spaces there is always 2 of us with one on watch while the other is working. We also have extraction rigged up where possible and use respirator with the high welding filters. Safety has to come first and that is why I'm looking into air fed masks as an additional safety item. I've been offered a Esab Aristo Tech HD mask with PAPR filter belt which I'm considering.

I worked with some Bendalls coded welders who all used Esab aristo hoods with the old style Eco air units, they said they had no complaints, except the batteries were iffy, poor capacity and super expensive.
I have the PAPR unit on my sentinel, granted it's not getting used every day, but it's a nicely designed unit, the battery has done 6 hour welding shifts at a time without signs of slowing down, and I'm pleased with it for what I do.
