What about something like these from Cromwell?

The above are meant for poly or nylon pipe.

What is the exact name of that part, so I can find it on ebay?

Sorry, I misled you as that type need tightening after positioning, you need a rotating coupling like the second pic.

Retractable air hoses are so cheap these days it's not worth messing about, I bought one of the big ones from Aldi many years a go, the hose on it perished pretty quickly as it's mounted in an open barn. Even after replacing the hose with a really flexible 20m one from Pirtek it still only owes me £70. Don't know why you would want to be rewinding it manually when a quick tug allows to retract on it's own.

Yep - but you could do a short piece of poly to an adaptor to whatever type of hose you are using.

Neither are the other type like these .....

They are meant to allow for movement of the fitting while attached to a tool, not continual rotation. If you want the proper thing then the Deblin rotating union type I linked to earlier are the right ones, or the ones you looked at initially - but they will be more than a couple of quid!!

my reel arived today, I'm impressed for yhe price, 10 metre hose, 10mm bore, 3/8 fittings and auto retractable, metal construction and very sturdy, can get some pics loaded if any one interested

I converted a Lidl hose reel for wall mounting & used standard PCL male & female fittings to make a rotating coupling for it. It has lasted a few years with no leaks & all it gets is an occasional smear of rubber grease!

I do like that retracting hose reel, might have to get one as my airline is only 8mm bore & a bit restrictive.

@pondy , that is the same reel I have in the mancave, its in regular use and not had any issues with it in ten plus years. The Draper leccy reels under the air hose are non to shabby either.

good to hear, i just fitted mine, used some m8 raw bolts, seems very sturdy. i have all my copper pipe and fittings for my hard air line, just waiting to fit everything. i have an extension real, its an rs, not sure if they are expensive or not, i took it as payment for a 10 min welding job
