Air tool question

If you have already purchased a new hose,did you buy a 3/8"(10mm)bore?,if you did a common modification is to drain the air receiver,remove the plug and using fittings and a valve go directly to your hose missing out the regulator altogether,improved the torque on my impact wrench
Worth a go before giving up ?

Was just about to ask what bore airline you're using. Anything less than 3/8" will seriously restrict performance of the tool, DA and grinder really needs 1/2".

Thatll probably be the reason why then, the comp is supplying air to the regulator via the crappy 8mm bore short length of pipe and then that has the clarke sport pipe on it with 1/4 fittings. I know i should be using bigger fittings etc but thats what the tools were supplied with.

yer understandable but saying that the da sander is a sealey and cost £40 not the cheapest around like, but the grinder was an ebay jobbie.

Use the regulator for pressure sensitive tools like spray guns ,get a big hose from the receiver ,3/8 or bigger,for safety have a valve on the tank,use a short hose,5 metres or less...its your best chance to use either the grinder or da,unfortunatley as i said earlier there can be no guarantee either will work satisfactory ....

DA sander on a low output compressor with a 50ltr tank, will be usable for maybe 30 seconds at a time, before needing to wait to allow pressure to build up again. some companies just want to sell things, so are not likely to tell customers high demand air tools are simply not suitable for use with small compressors.

I must have a very special 50 litre 3hp machine then. (10 bar though)

I would agree with you if you'd said my old 1.5hp on a 24 litre tank.
