I only ever used one on my air chisel.
All air tools are far better with a whip hose. I buy them in, though they seem expensive for what they are - if I were getting kitted up again I'd buy a length of suitable hose and get the hosetail fittings and make them myself. Finding good flexible hose which doesn't disintegrate quickly isn't always easy though.
Also, buy a load of these as well, it makes a huge difference to where you can squeeze tools in when access is tight plus you don't ever fight the hose:

I have a few of those 360 things do u screw them straight onto the tool?
oh do u use the wire thing?
