yes you are right however perlight is used within the high temp cement vermiculite is better as an insulation but compacting it with cement is a no

Okay. They have sacks of perlite and vermiculite for about £4 each iirc. Suppose I wanted to build a big rocket, how would I use them? Thanks in advance. This is something I may well be doing incidentally!

used material
25 kg of perlite then a full bag of refractory cement note 1 to 1 ratio or a 2 to 1 ratio of refractory cement and perite mix I used dense 1700c

for these 2 cores ones a 4 1/2" internal x 27" high the other is 16" high x 3 1/2" internal

but big isnt always needed

i also cannot tell you how long a form lasts either its also the same on most forums as nobody has said how long the form lasts before needs replacing

if you create a post for the rocket build i will post and add all the info on it for you

Back on topic, I bought one of these a few years back (may have been a LIDL one) when they were about £169, it has worked great, but it is LOUD, the £140 price tag is great but I think the next one I buy will be a belt drive to save me getting an ASBO.

Taken from the Clarke manuals for the compressors and from Amazon for the Wolf:

My direct drive has a rating of 97db.
Clarke raider direct drive 93db
Clarke Boxer belt drive 94db.
Wolf 90l belt drive

I think the main difference is direct is a more higher pitch and the belt drive lower, but both just a noisy.

i done this to mine, i have feeling is 3/8 bsp, some one will be along shortly to confirm

Most are 1/2 BSP. Mine was, I got a PCL fitting from Machine Mart, fitted straight in. You could also do it with a 1/2x1/4 bush & a 1/4 BSP PCL fitting if you can't find a fitting to do it in one go.

Got a compressor, hooked her up and well pleased. The thread on the end is 1/2" BSP. Need.to sort out where to put them. Do you think they could run off the one ring main?

Same here, but just concerned about the noise of another direct drive compressor in the shed.

With respect to the power, I have a 25l and a 50l running off one pressure switch and both are running off one extension lead from the cooker outlet socket, no problem with anything tripping, or getting hot, occasionally the fuse pops.

Well I went and got the Aldi one a couple of days ago. Runs great, if a little bit loud... it refills the 50L accumulator in no time. Seems good for the price. Cuts in at 6 bar and cuts out at 8, which is OK for me as I'm just using it for tyres at the moment.
