Looks like you are getting there. Welds look slightly on the cold side, maybe just the picture but try with a few more amps and see what happens. Have you managed to pick up a decent electrode? I'd be happy to drop off if you're nearby or post a varied selection if you'd be interested.
Thanks for the offer. I did get half a box from Nick that I have only used a small amount of so far, for practice and the above.
I have run a wire brush in a drill over the welds in the picture above. I have amps set a recommended current from either one of my threads or the tutorial from front page here, or what nick suggested, which might all be the same. I think 120A?
well done -practice & then some.& don't leave it too long between each practice as thats when the techniques can be forgotten & your back to the start & confused.
Thanks Nick. Yes needs to be kept up for sure. I have several more sessions for this little project yet, which I want to press on with so I can use it. Got quite a few fiddly (but chunky) bits to do too, should be interesting...
