Don't think Firebool Tools chap uses Fronius, in fact there's a bright yellow ESAB shown in the background - are you thinking of The Fabrication Series bloke?
Having built 2 very large vices for myself, the biggest issue I found was getting the screw and suitable nut, and a nice pile of suitable scrap steel to sort through. Next issue was making the jaws, you do need a grinder and a largish welder though, and lots of cutting and grinding wheels. I think that my cost was less than $100 each. You could look at machinery wreckers for the screws if they are nearby.

I have a 6” vice in my garage that I bought in the Philippines some 15 years ago. It was hand cut and fabricated entirely from steel plate, very labour intensive. I paid about £10 for it brand new. Labour is cheap in some places......

Although might have cost a bit to get it to your home in England.Sad thing about chucke2009 now is that he has drank the coolaid of some of the American extreme preachers and is moving in the direction of ramming his opinions on morality down people's throats. Think he's losing all relevance since his projects have slowed down and he's trying to get a new following. Just a bobble head now really.
I've not watched a thing of his since he started attacking anyone his far right preachers disagreed with.

I remember the scrap metal shop I used to buy odds and ends of steel from, an old guy worked there, maybe 70+ years old. His job was to sit on a little stool and hacksaw hydraulic ram struts into foot long pieces. The rods were 3” diameter!

Well something went wrong around the end of May.
I stopped watching before he moved to Texas a few years ago but looking into it now, his channel was demonetised for three months and some videos removed. The removed videos are still online if you know where to look, I won't post a link as they're not family friendly and any subsequent discussion about it will be very not family friendly.

No idea why he's got that beautiful Monarch 10ee that could cut a nice coarse ACME thread but goes ahead and cuts a jabberwocky fine ISO thread with a die.
