Wait till you need to open root something with 7018.I used positive electrode, never found negative electrode to work as smoothly myself.
Actually many 6013s run better negative

Shouldn't they be used on stainless?Nah Esab 312s are as smooth as a baby's bare bits.
Something weird I've noticed.Wait till you need to open root something with 7018.

I use em for dissimilar metals or where I don't know what it is or, for example, I just welded up Alvaro's scythe blade again. Last time I thought I was clever using my flux core to do it but it must have been too brittle. This time I went at it with the 312s and it looks to have done a great job. I still have some tidying up to do on it - when I have the armour and courage to get the die grinder out.Shouldn't they be used on stainless?
I like stainless rods but they are expensive and there are better option for regular steel.
I like stainless rods for studs removal they work great
Probably your AC welder doesn't have enough volts for 7018Something weird I've noticed.
I can't run 7018 on AC but I can both dcep or dcen
6013 are far the most difficult rods to run properly for me
It's kinda weird I know but sometimes they just make me mad
not all 7018 will run on acSomething weird I've noticed.

Prefer a 6013 for tacking up, 7018 is hard to restrike and I haven't got the technique right yet.I prefer them over everything
