You're dead right, it is exactly that. Other than it being a foot powered grinder I have no idea what it's for!

Set it upright against a post or bench edge using a pipe clamp/u-bolt if the original clamp is missing. Just a nice convenient grinder. Mine gets used for chisels, plane irons, even the kitchen knives... with none of that machine noise.... nice bit of low tech.

I picked this anvil up recently, it cost me a fiver! It is about a foot and a half long, no damage but well worn. Only markings on it is a rather aged looking 13 stamped in it, I'm guessing it's pretty old!
