An attempt to convert a large band saw into a vertical one

The coolant pump turned out to be not sealed where possible. The coolant tank will have to be made from scratch. The lid must be placed inside the tank, then all leaks will flow into the tank.

I started making a table, made a cut at maximum settings, feeding the strip downwards, pressing it with my hand on the first 3 cm of the cut.
The shower head works as intended. The outer row of holes is sealed with silicone sealant. It washes away the shavings where I need them.

I like the little grinder cutter, I made one out of a 230mm big one mounted on a carrage that tracked on rails. Needed to cut out 4mm steel for woodstoves. Noisey, dusty and slow, plus lots of discs. Then my local toolshop had a delivery of plasma cutters ('88?) Bingo, not looked back since.

I will have to modify this machine to cut cross-shaped slots in a slightly conical washer with a diameter of 60 mm, slot width 5 mm, depth 5 mm. While there is no milling machine, you will have to get confused. I am afraid of large angle grinders and the abrasive disc bends on them when force is applied. The cut is not precise. The small 125mm blade cuts noticeably more accurately. I outsource large amounts of metal cutting using plasma to neighbors in our industrial zone or to laser cutting in a neighboring village. My need for such work is vanishingly small. I do it with what I have.

So, everything worked out as planned. I'm happy with this DIY vertical cutting table. It is necessary to change the band saw blade, install a blade with fine teeth and adjust the position of the band saw blade to 90 degrees relative to the table. Mark the position of the bearings on the table. And start solving the next problem. All these crooked homemade products in the camera lens serve to test the manufacturing technology of one still virtual project. If the project is successful, I will solve this with the help of outsourcing industrial technologies and buy other equipment with better specialization.
