The types we work for are far to tight to blow money on cars like that Gordon, most have wrecks for daily drivers, one in particular smokes about in a 1986 Datsun estate. If and when the stable doors are opened out roll the jewels, normally older restored classics like Bentleys and Astons.

BIL’s misses has a 40k kitchen in her latest house. She cant cook for fudge, it either comes ready peeled from Marks&Sparks or its a carry out.
He spent 2k on a fantasic builtin espresso machine in his last house neither knew how to use. Moot point as neither drank coffee

Sold the house and the bloke who bought it ripped the 18mths old 32k kitchen out. All in the skip

20 odd years ago I was helping a mate install a very expensive kitchen in a house in surrey when the american specially imported "fridge" arrived , cost over £ 10,000 .00 to import. Unfortunately it didn't fit the alcove and the wife couldn't send it back and rather than let her old man know she had messed up she insisted we took it away. I got a good bonus that day .

Not all wealth comes from kicking a bag of wind around, there are other ways to become wealthy. But welding isnt one of them.

it dont buy happiness but it sure helps better than been skint and unhappy

Id say the old money I know, dont feel the need to impress, its just always been there. Many are very asset rich, but cash poor. Having sad that, not all new money I know are flash either. One who is extremely wealthy, and self made runs an older pickup than me, and its their only car. Cars just dont do it for them. Only luxury they really have is a cleaner.
