Angle Measuring Device

I need to buy a good quality angle measuring device for work - to determine the inclination of structural members and and also the angle between members.
I've seen this from Stabila - https://www.stabila.com/en/products/details/tech-700-da-digital-electronic-angle-finder.html which looks nice, if a bit pricey.

Anyone got one? Or able to suggest an alternative?

I should add that it doesn't need to be digital, preference for high quality and simplicity of use.

Quality is good. Solid piece of kit. It's been dropped a few times and survived.
Only criticism is the auto shut off can be frustrating. Shuts down a bit quick for a slow bugger like me sometimes.

To what accuracy? All these digital gimzos are very handy, but they dont like been dropped, knocked, kicked, tea spilt, or 4lb hammers dropped on them. Not to mention batteries.

A Bevel gauge and protractor on the other hand, has worked faultylessly for millennia. Just sayin

Re accuracy, 0.1 of a degree would be preferable. I take your point on the downsides of digital, I'm happy with a bevel gauge and protractor for most hobby stuff but it can be impractical when you're working on site at night.

Of the 3/5 that still work, any stand out items that are worth considering?

Stabila make nice things ,,, nice things are expensive ,,, I have a Chinese version but I seldom use it as its not nice , the battery is always flat and to be honest I tend not to believe it most of the time .

Re my nedo version, I find it's easily as accurate as me reading any sort of analogue old school measuring device by eye, probably a lot more accurate. I like old fashioned gear but ageing eyes are much helped by a big clear digital display.
Plus the 400mm length of the nedo lends itself to more accurate measuring.

When you say ‘good’ what sort of tolerance and calibration do you need?

Obviously this isn’t calibrated to any standard and I’ve no idea what the tolerance is but it’s basic and works.

Compared it to other things of different heritage I’ve come across and it’s bang on in so much I can tell.

I’d think to the nearest degree is a fair summary of it.

Anything with a level bubble (physical or electronic) in it will only measure relative to the centre of the earth.

A digital angle finder will work in any orientation.

Fair enough.

I’ve the trend one for relative angles. I’ll get a pic in a minute.

As the OP said inclination I assumed it was angle relative to the earth

depends how accurately you can cut angles ,,, that dictates the need for accuracy in my world.

I would love a bevel protractor but unfortunately it's not practical for this purpose.

I need to be able to measure the relative angle between members and also the inclination from horizontal. As for tolerance and calibration, to the nearest half a degree is probably sufficient in reality, but I'd prefer 0.1.

Leaning towards the Stabila or Nedo for ease of use on site and benefits of a longer length etc.

Had considered an angle finder such as those commonly used for mitre saws but as there are a 'spot' measurement there is the potential for inaccuracy.

I mainly use an old mercury needle balanced inclinometer,as said,no batteries to fail,plus it comes in a lovely pressed steel case.
