Angle Measuring Device

I suppose there's no reason I couldn't buy an inclinometer and a device for measuring relative angles... any thoughts on a good quality inclinometer?

I have a bubble one that fits on a spirit level
That is quite useful.

Or a digital trend angle finder which I use a lot!

Bought a German supermarket version of the smaller trend above for not a lot of £. Use it to set the vise angle against the blade for mitre cuts. Digital readout now defunct but angle finder still does its job. Handy always threatened to buy another but never seen them again.
Does the readout last on the trend?

Compare the Wixey one with the Trend one.

Note that some of the machine-dro ones have a mitre function (angle halving) - handy for setting an angle on a chopsaw or bandsaw.

I rarely need one, but my old Starrett gauge seems to do the job.

Yes it's pretty good and reliable, must have had mine at least a year or so and it's still working fine!

Ditto. Mines a few years old - birthday present from brother.

One thing I will say is that it doesn’t auto-off which can chew a battery if you let it get knocked on.

I use an Empire inclinometer. Decent quality, had it for 20 years. A bit more robust than some if them.
And a starret protractor, you can turn the body to act like an inclinometer using the bubble on the back.

Also a trend bevel box, where accuracy/smaller measurements are required.

The stabila digi levels are excellent, just need to be looked after a bit more. If its yours and just for you, treat yourself.

Digital levels, gauges, protractors are great, but I always take the tradition protractor and levels just in case.

Changed direction slightly and purchased the following:

I may also invest in a trend or similar angle/mitre box too.

In the end, I didn't fancy the batteries giving up right when I needed them - I also have a habit of forgetting to carry spares.... I'm confident that the above combined with some good quality levels will yield all that I need for the moment.

Will report back when they arrive.

I have a 6” sized one of those expensive angle thingies, they were 20 quid recommended on here by someone, obviously not made by a leading brand name. Incredible that it can be made and sold for that price, but works a treat.

I have the Stanley version of that level! Forgot about it as it's been a while since I used it since getting the trend.
