Full story. Tandragee in N. Ireland 1967. First time there, arrived at circuit on Saturday morning after being collected at Belfast ferry with a cattle wagon. At that time there was no practice or sighting laps just out of the paddock straight on to the grid. That pic was first lap, mixing it with two good Irish riders who knew where they were going . Managed to save that slide on the grass and set off after them. Starting the second lap I thought the left hand bend at the top after the start was flat in third, it wasn’t. It was second and I went straight on into a field and broke my left collarbone. Did get the address of the Irish nurse who strapped me up so I could get the ferry back that night but that’s another story.Did you manage to pass ?
Interested in make of M/C No 12 is riding . Strange forks almost Arrow looking but no sign of expansion chambers and a featherbed type bottom rails on frame.
A friend had a foray into the Irish scene in the mid 60's and had the same lack of practice experience. On arrival at the start "area" the only indication of a start line was a guy with a VIM shaker ( Vim as in kitchen cleaner) dusting out a rough line across the road and was told "sure, just follow the 250's round until you get the idea " He was on a G50 . I never had the nerve to try the Irish scene.Full story. Tandragee in N. Ireland 1967. Who'd have thought it. A belly pan transforms the look of it.Bought some bodywork and tank today for £350 so it should be getting a facelift soon. Looks far more purposeful! The breakers has sold the seat cowl though so I’m looking for a used one I can get painted if anyone is aware of anyone with Suzooooki spares.
