I wanted to protect my Land Rover Defender chassis from futher Corrosion ,but wasn't sure what to use ,i had various ideas given to me ,Waxoyl, old and new engine oil, white spirit with candle wax melted together, tetrosyl, stone chip shultz etc ,then i found "cavity wax" supplied by "Wayside adhesives" on eBay ,after a couple of eBay messages I found out they were only about 4 miles from where i live in Nottingham,so after a visit, i came back with a litre of "cavity wax" and thought i'd give it a go,this stuff is brilliant !,so i went back for another 6 litres ,it's cream in colour but dries virtually clear leaving a waxy coat once the chemicals have evaporated (smells like white spirit), its very thin (unlike waxoyl) and it sprays very easy from a shult type gun ,this was perfect for getting inside the doors, bulkhead, cross members and chassis rails, today i've been back for some of their "under body coating" ,again this is a great product and much easier to apply then waxoyl and cheaper (there is a price difference between their website and eBay) ,there really nice people to deal with,so I thought i'd give them some praise !!

Apologies for raising this oldish thread, did any one else try the cavity wax from Wayside Adhesives as I'm planning on going down the same route as biodoctor and this stuff sounds ok.
Malcolm has rather put me off using Waxoyl as the LR chassis is made of two halves and welded together - there is, of course, a joint top and bottom.
The other attraction is that it behaves differently to Waxoyl in that it can be applied at the temps we are currently seeing without thinning or standing in water etc. While I'm not about to do anything this week end I'm hoping for warmer weather soon....
Any feedback would be appreciated before I spend the shillings!
