ooh no need then may get a pack of fancy ones to test against the cheapo ones when I have a bit of time/cash to spend on various small packs but for now I'll make do
Lucky you having a mate with access to them though!
yeah theres something about using a stick welder thats more fun plus I don't have a mig anymore…..sold it to fund that stupid TIG which is now sat in a shipping container til I can get a bigger power supply cant do with only running it on 1/3rd power
Thats a patina on that vice I may give it a blast with a wire brush grinder just to make it look tidier but the used effect looks better (I've actually got an SLR I just don't use it )
Cheers, gonna have another play on friday as its meant to be dry then
Got some bolts to weld to some plate so think I'll chop some rods down to half length for that or just take my time with a longer one as no doubt it'll be a bit awkward
A little inconsistent but nothing too major although from such a poor photo it's difficult to gain any perspective on the size of the weld. It's akin to sticking my nose right on it to assess!!!! It maybe looks a little bulbus as if to indicate a tad too slow or slightly cold but it'd hold a couple of paperclips together.
But knowing your approach to fabrication, that run's as fat as my forearm!
Also, it's a bit high - more on the vertical plate than the flat bottom section, but we're nitpicking for a 'noob'.
