Is there any need to use air fed breathing masks when spraying epoxy based primers? Seems like they would work very well on GRP, and maybe safer to use than 2K?
Fergus, keep us all updated on how rollering epoxy works as I'm also doing a beetle and though I have access to a booth at work we can't store it while I work on it.The plan is to do the prep and inside at home then take it to work for the outside top coats.
Let us know how easy it is to sand and are you doing the awkward detailed places with a brush?
I've just received some Jotamastic 87 from an ebay seller for £43.90 and free delivery

After seeing langy's comment about someones product being out of date I was worried that could of been the reason why mine was so cheap, but the mfg date on the tin was June 2011.
Quick question - I'll be using fairly small batches (about 250ml at a time) so am I OK to use weight to get the correct ratio of paint and hardener? We've got some digital kitchen scales, which measure in 1g increments, so I could borrow those while the wife is out
Colin
I was going to buy some from them[metalflake], they are close to me. However I only wanted a litre or so, so I bought from paints4u. I mixed the first coats by weight, mixed something like 200g of epoxy. I used some cheapo salter digital g scales and it was fine.
I have something to do tomorrow and I think i will mix something like 25g of epoxy!
The Lechler epoxy.you ordered a litre of what from paints4u ?
Using the foam rollers that you see recommended for the Rustoleum repaints leaves a slightly textured finish, I'll probably spray a guide coat tomorrow and find out just how hard it is.
youd really need it close to flat before the high build , could use 240 dry to speed things along a little?
