We have one, S3 mobil. Previously worked on Fronius TPS 2700. We tried several machines before we bought S3. I think we made good choice, though we did not have a chance to try all major machines...

Personal impressions:
- Set up is really very easy and intuitive, though english is not our language...
- we had not problems in work, though couple time it worked 20 hours with 60% cycle at 200 A...
- we have a problem with flux cored wires, because they become hot and clog into contact tip and make a mess in liner. GI guess we should buy some heat resistant contact tip.
- Short arc with ER70S-6 and C18 gas, is perfect from synergic line.
- not possible to achive spray from synergic line with the same wire and gas, but it is possible from manual mode at 230 A and 27 V (1.0 mm wire). It is Ok.
- Spray with E71T-1 and C18 is bad from synergic line, but from manual mode is less or more OK. (I personally am not fully satisfied).
- pulse welding and twin pulse with aluminium is excellent. You must love it here.
- pulse and double pulse with CuSi3 and CuAl8(...) is also excellent.
- we welded nickel alloys 100%Ar, in spray, perfect result (using stainless steel synergic line),

Not a lot of expierence with stainless steel, I guess it would be OK in spray and pulse, but what about short arc in 2.5%CO2?

We also have a problem with technical back up, because we must "study" very short manual in english, no help from local distributor, it would be fine if we could ask a questions by phone or e-mail. We want to use full capacity of that machine, now we use almost only 40% of its possibility (my rough estimation).
On the other hand people who sold us the machine are fine guys, they even gave us S3 for 1 month without any obligation to buy it. We were satisfied..., and finally bought though it was by far the most expensive machine in portable 300A class we considered.

Again, we are not from UK, but it would be nice if someone could sometime answer some questions either through PP or at public forum relating to use S3 mobil fully and in the best way.

Should you need any more information, we may test it according your request and let you know our impressions.

Hi ZST,

Burn back is adjusted in the background menu, its factory set at 100%, which is Synergically adjusted by the machine depending on your wire speed. If you want to make the wire burn off more when you stop welding increase the time, if you want more wire sticking out afterwards then decrease the time (percentage)
