Any fitters on here? Manitou BT420 Issues

@Spark plug ,I believe, is the man you need to talk to. He is very knowledgeable about Manitous.
Edit, I hope this is same Sparkplug, as on farming forum. Going by style of posts, I am sure it is.

Also , as above , Andrew at A&R handling. He posts on the farming fourum, as Acengineering. He worked for a Manitou dealer for years, before going on his own, specialising, in Manitou. He is very helpful and generous, with advice. If he doesn't know , he will say so, rather than , bluff it.

I am one and the same, although there are two of us on the farming forum, myself with a space and another without.

I had already read the thread other than the basics oil, filters etc that had already been mentioned my knolage of telehandler drive systems is limited.

Are you looking at page 123? I think it is a typo. The same 8.4 and 40 appear on page 8 where they are cm3/r (that is 'R' for Robert), possibly meaning per revolution.

That makes a lot more sense even at cc/s it seemed quite low.

As above comprehensive testing is key, way to many clueless fitters out there that will go on an expensive parts changing spree and keep going until they have "fixed" it. Money is better spent on simple hydraulic flow/pressure tests to eliminate the various components. On ours there is a dump solenoid that releases pressure when the brake is applied and that was playing up, that was a five minute fix.

A flow/pressure meter would tell you whether its a pump or motor issue.

That’s it ours also has a dump valve connected to the brake which we have Inspected but couldn’t make heads or tails of.
Yes it’s hydrostatic. No clutch no gears.

Hello Brad93, Did you find problem with BT420?

We have 2 and had a Similar issue, Found the filter housing where the top screws on had been screwed on too tight and Cracked the housing allowing Air to suck in preventing the forklift from driving, Robbed Filter housing off Donor Machine..... Now looking for Filter Housing so both can run again

We have 2 and had a Similar issue, Found the filter housing where the top screws on had been screwed on too tight and Cracked the housing allowing Air to suck in preventing the forklift from driving, Robbed Filter housing off Donor Machine..... Now looking for Filter Housing so both can run again
