need some solder wick asap , anyone know of any high street /diy chains that stock it?
thanks
thanks
any idea when last order is ...cheersHow ASAP? RS stock it for next day delivery.
I was thinking that would probably work.Flux and fine copper wire will do as good job as braid, same thing really.
And that's exactly why I just order some from Amazon.I know that:
The Range
B&m
home bargains
b&q
screwfix
toolstation
wickes
selco
homebase
wilkinsons
Do not.
I ended up ordering some last month from CPC.
i use multi strand light wireFlux and fine copper wire will do as good job as braid, same thing really.
Better still, flux and the braid from coax wire....also good for making scalextrix brushes!Flux and fine copper wire will do as good job as braid, same thing really.
Amazon if you can wait until tomorrow. More reliable than royal mail post but usually late afternoon.
Would work fine, but I'd want to clean off flux residue ASAP afterwards.dont have any flux either lol
or would plumbing flux do the same job ?
Just make sure you clean it all up when you're done, it's more corrosive than electronic flux (Which is rosin, same stuff they wax violin bows with, so if there's a music shop on your high street you might be in luck).dont have any flux either lol

Compressed air blow gun makes a wonderful desolder-er.Am I the only one here that desolders with a short bristle paint brush

tried that too lol..so that flux paste is acceptable to use? would i be wiping it on the braid the melting it in with the iron?Pop a dab of fresh solder on the reticent solder, then try the sucker again.
