Flux and fine copper wire will do as good job as braid, same thing really.

Amazon if you can wait until tomorrow. More reliable than royal mail post but usually late afternoon.

Used to deal with the above regularly on Jersey. That pushed me to online shopping for pretty much everything.

Better still, flux and the braid from coax wire....also good for making scalextrix brushes!

Just make sure you clean it all up when you're done, it's more corrosive than electronic flux (Which is rosin, same stuff they wax violin bows with, so if there's a music shop on your high street you might be in luck).

Compressed air blow gun makes a wonderful desolder-er.

its a old tin of this i have in stock
truth be told i have some desoldering braid , but its not wicking up the solder , so use a bit of that and clean it off after ? i wasnt sure if it was fit to use these days

its this im struggling with a solder sucker worked a treat on some of them , others not so good , its 21 pins and im hoping to reuse it

might try the airline trick

tried that too lol..so that flux paste is acceptable to use? would i be wiping it on the braid the melting it in with the iron?
